What we check
We follow the water from the tank to the outlet pipe.
We may check the pump, float or switch, valve, tank, pipe, controls, and alarm.
- Pump and switch
- Check valve and pipe
- Tank and debris
- New pump or backup choices when needed
Ground water and drainage
A sump pump moves ground water or drain water out of a low spot. The pump, switch, valve, power, tank, and pipe all need to work.

We check power, the switch, a clog, the motor, and the water level.
The valve, pipe, lift, or pump may have a problem.
Too much water, a small tank, switch trouble, or water flowing back may cause it.
What we check
We may check the pump, float or switch, valve, tank, pipe, controls, and alarm.
Not for sewage
A normal sump pump is made for ground water, not sewage or solids. If a toilet, sink, or other drain goes into the tank, we first identify the system.
